An invitation to worship...

Easter Sunday

Good Day College Church,

On Sunday, I will proclaim "He is Risen," and you will respond, "He is Risen Indeed."
But not yet! Easter Sunday is three days away, so we have to wait a bit. But frankly, I think I'm ready for Easter to arrive.

By that I don't mean that all the work that has to be done to get ready for Easter is finished. By that I don't mean I don't have anything to do between now and Sunday morning. I'm not that kind of "ready" for Easter to arrive.

No, what I mean is that I'm ready for the truth of Easter to arrive. Indeed, I think I'm more than ready.

  • I'm ready to be reminded that good will triumph over evil.
  • I'm ready to be reminded that God cannot be constrained by sin or death.
  • I'm ready to be reminded that, for that reason, death will not be the last word.
  • I'm ready to be reminded that God's promises for His people will be fulfilled.
  • I'm ready to be reminded of God's transforming (resurrecting)  power in the lives of those being baptized.

Indeed, I'm ready to be reminded of the truth of Jesus' transformative power in the lives of all of us who will gather on this "Sunday of all Sundays" to worship their resurrected Lord.

Yup! I think I'm more than ready for the good news of Easter to arrive. I believe it will be a glorious day, as we celebrate the amazing news that our Lord is not still dead, but alive again, and living and reigning among us.

Yup.  I'm ready for Easter to arrive... and I'm guessing you are too.

See you Sunday!!!
