An invitation to worship...

With believers everywhere and at every time...

In addition to belatedly joining fellow believers worshipping our Lord this Sunday, who will have worshipped before us by virtue of being east of us, we will also be joining with fellow believers worshipping our Lord who have gone on before us into the heavenly kingdom.

Because of our union with Christ, when we worship Him on Sundays, we not only worship with others who are presently living; we also worship with those who have passed away and are living again!

Our loved ones are not as far away as we sometimes think they are.

We are probably not as aware as we should be, of the meaning of the phrase "communion of saints." When we confess that phrase in the Apostles' Creed, we mean more than just the fellowship of currently living believers. To say we believe in the "communion of saints," is to say that we believe that we are in communion with every believer everywhere and at every time. It is to believe that we are in fellowship with all Christians, regardless of where they are or when they have lived, which means it is no small group who worship the Lord on the Lord's Day.

Since this Sunday is "All Saints Day," we will remind ourselves that when we go to church, we go to church with, again, every believer everywhere and at every time. And this Sunday, we will remember in particular, seventeen College Church congregants who went to be with the Lord this last year, and who are now worshipping with us from the heavenly kingdom.

I encourage you to be faithful to the worship of our Lord on this very special Sunday, as we worship our Lord with believers from every where and every time.

Following the worship service, we are hosting Pizza with the Pastors. If you are new to College Church, or even not-so-new, and you would like to get to know College Church pastors a little bit better, you are welcome to join us in the cafe, for (obviously) pizza.

If you are curious about membership at College Church, or would like to join, you are welcome to come to the Membership Class Meeting this Sunday night at 6:00pm.

And we will have an extra hour to get ready for church this "All Saints Sunday," as we set our clocks back one hour.

See you Sunday! I believe it will be a very good day.

Pastor Mark
