KIDS' WORSHIP
Our children's ministry will be making a programming change for elementary kids beginning on January 11, 2025. Below you'll find a letter from Pastor Sherry and information about the new format.
A note from Pastor Sherry...

Dear Parents,
Over the past six months, I've been prayerfully reevaluating our Sunday's 10:30 Kidsland programming for 1st through 6th grade. My focus has been on one key question: Are we using our time with children to effectively disciple them in worship?
We don't have much time with kids - so every moment must be purposeful, relational, and discipleship-focused.

Over the past six months, I've been prayerfully reevaluating our Sunday's 10:30 Kidsland programming for 1st through 6th grade. My focus has been on one key question: Are we using our time with children to effectively disciple them in worship?
We don't have much time with kids - so every moment must be purposeful, relational, and discipleship-focused.
As I worked through this, several priorities rose to the surface:
- meaningful intergenerational worship
- nurturing relationships with Christ-centered adult leaders
- intentional discipleship through worship
- better connection between 9:00 and 10:30 hours
- staffing and curriculum needs
From this prayerful process, a new plan for worship-based discipleship has formed:
participation in the worship service
Beginning January 11, children in 1st-6th grade will join the congregation in the sanctuary for the music, greeting, and announcement time of the worship service. During the offering time, they will be given a prompt to transition to Kidsland.
TEACHING TIME IN THE BIG ROOM
Once downstairs, the children will all meet together. I will be leading them in core discipleship areas such as prayer, service Scripture, missions, worship, communion, and baptism.
We will also connect our teaching to the 9AM story, include additional songs and offering, and do activities as one group or by age - depending on staff availability.

We are a diverse children's community with families who have different needs and convictions. You may choose for your child to remain with you in the service or come downstairs to Kidsland - and we will support your family's decision either way.
My goal is simple: to offer loving and nurturing discipleship that helps children learn to worship - both in the sanctuary and in Kidsland.

Transition Time
Parents pick up 1st-6th graders from Kidsland. Enjoy fellowship and donuts in the foyer before heading to the sanctuary.

Children will leave the sanctuary during offering. They will meet Pastor Sherry in the commons and together they will travel downstairs to Kidsland.

CHECK-IN LOGISTICS
Checking in at 9:00am
If you are arriving at 9:00, you'll bring your children down to Kidsland and check in as usual. Please let the desk volunteers know if your child will be returning to Kidsland mid-service.
Checking in at 10:30am
If you are arriving at 10:30 and have any early childhood kids, you'll go downstairs to Kidsland and check them in there.
If you are arriving at 10:30 and have ONLY elementary kids, we are offering a convenient check-in space at the south commons desk so that you can get their name ticket and then head to the sanctuary.
If you are arriving at 9:00, you'll bring your children down to Kidsland and check in as usual. Please let the desk volunteers know if your child will be returning to Kidsland mid-service.
