Serving Others Together

Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the organization for mobilizing the local church for missions in the Church of the Nazarene. Through the NMI Council at College Church, we financially and prayerfully support missionaries around the globe and in our local community. We provide opportunities for our congregation to hear from missionaries about the work God is doing in their ministries. We provide service opportunities for them to come alongside global missions through Work & Witness trips and to participate in local ministries through serve day projects.

The NMI Council is made up of over 20 people in our congregation and, if you have a heart for missions, we would love to have you join us!

Here’s a glimpse of what your NMI Council does each year,  in partnership with the congregation:

  • Host a Missions Weekend with a guest speaker, a prayer walk highlighting specific needs from Nazarene missionaries around the world, and a service opportunity for local missions.

  • Coordinate the School Pal Pack Drive and package together school supplies for international children whose families may not have the funds to purchase them.

  • Coordinate the Crisis Care Kit Drive and package together emergency toiletry supplies for those around the world experiencing displacement due to a natural disaster.

  • Present Memorial Roll certificates as a way to honor deceased friends and loved ones in the congregation. The purchase of the certificates help to fund missionary healthcare.

  • Present Distinguished Service Awards as a way to honor persons in the congregation who have significantly impacted the church. The purchase of the award helps to fund missionary healthcare.

  • Coordinate the Christmas in July Project and December Christmas Care Project aimed at providing support for local and international missions.

  • Support the World Evangelism Fund through offerings at Easter and Thanksgiving.

  • Host visiting missionaries and invite them to share reports about their ministry with our congregation.

  • Support the building of churches, pastors’ homes, and schools through the Alabaster Offering.

  • Provide opportunities for Work & Witness trips in the United States as well as overseas.

The best part of the mission trip was getting to see the children (at Los Ninos) being so happy, enjoying life, and learning about Jesus.
