Engagement & Care
At College Church, our goal is to help the church engage with the neighborhoods and communities that reside right next door. We want to create opportunities for our church to serve alongside one another while investing in the community around us. We continue to develop partnerships with local churches and organizations in order to reach those that are in need. We would love for you to join us this year as we look for ways to continue to reach the community right next door!
Community Events
Attending a church for the first time can be a scary thing for some. Choosing a church and walking in the front door can be daunting.
The purpose of our community events is to give people an opportunity to be in our building during a fun activity and get to know who we are in a comfortable setting!
Community Block Party
The College Church community block parties are great ways for people who are hesitant to join a church to begin experiencing the Life Changing Community at College Church in a fun and stress-free environment.
The Lot
The Lot happens every Saturday afternoon, starting at the end of May through the beginning of August. We engage with kids and teenagers in the community next to College Church through sports and yard games. By building relationships we introduce the kids to who the Lord is and demonstrate what being a follower of Jesus looks like.
Charity Fundraisers
People enjoy helping others, but not everyone has the ability to participate in a serve day. Throughout the year, we host a few charity fundraisers in partnership with organizations and non-profits in the community. These fundraisers are a time for people to have a fun, enjoyable, and unscripted evening while helping support others and the mission the Lord has given them.
Serve Days
We partner with local churches and non-profits in Kankakee County in order to support individuals and organizations in the ministry the Lord has called them to pursue. We understand not everyone has a strong volunteer staff, so our serve days help these organizations accomplish projects they might need help in completing.
