Church Board

Your College Church of the Nazarene University Avenue Board is committed to serving the pastor and church body alike, working in harmony to lead the work of the church. Your prayers for the church and board are always appreciated.

The board meets once each month (with occasional additional meetings, as needed) at a time and date published in the weekly bulletin and calendar; all are welcome to attend.

laura allen

About Laura

Laura works part-time as a math instructor for the Upward Bound program at Kankakee Community College. She and her husband Daniel have three children. The Allens have attended College Church for four and a half years, volunteer in the Kidsland nursery, serve at Awana, and lead the Homebuilders Sunday School class.

lynda allen

About Lynda

Lynda is a professor in the School of Business at Olivet. She and her husband Brian have been attending College Church since their days as students at Olivet. They have three children and four grandchildren and are currently serving in Kidsland in their granddaughter's class.

TYLER BONTRAGER

About Tyler

Tyler is a school counselor at BBCHS and coaches girl’s tennis. He and his wife Lynnae have two daughters, and have attended CCUA for thirteen years. They are members of the Homebuilders Sunday School class. Tyler sings in Chancel Choir and serves on the Worship Team, Hospitality Team, and the NMI Council.

CHARLES CARRIGAN

Secretary of the Board

About Charles

Charles is a professor in the Chemistry and Geoscience Department at ONU. He and his wife, Dana, have four daughters. The Carrigans have been attending College Church for seven and a half years. Charles co-leads the college age Sunday School class and serves as the church board secretary.

tony fightmaster

About Tony

Tony is an advancement officer at Olivet. He and his wife Janine have four sons, four daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren. The Fightmasters have been attending College Church for forty-five years. Tony volunteered with youth events while their sons were growing up and has participated in various music ministry opportunities at CCUA over the years.

RACHEL GREENAWALT

About Rachel

Rachel is a retired schoolteacher. She has been attending College Church since 1970, and is a member of the Here’s the Bible Sunday School class. Rachel serves on the Missions Council, Fellowship Committee and Prayer and Care Team. She sings in Chancel Choir, and has done extensive travel with Work and Witness teams.

jeanette martinson

About Jeanette

Jeanette is a professor of psychology at Olivet as well as being a licensed clinical professional counselor, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband Jay and their two youngest children have attended College Church for seven years. The Martinsons are co-leaders of the Faith and Life Sunday School class, host a connection group for college students in their home, and serve in the greeting/hospitality ministry monthly.

aaron meyer

About Aaron

Aaron is an arborist with the village of Homewood. He is married to Amy, and they have three children. They have been attending College Church together for twenty-five years. Aaron volunteers each week as head usher.

DOUG NIELSEN

About Doug

Doug is a professor in the McGraw School of Business at Olivet Nazarene University as well as an associate representative at Country Financial. He and his wife, Katie, have two children, and have attended College Church since 2009. Doug has volunteered in various ministries over the years, including Kidsland, ushering, and service on the church board.

KYLE OLNEY

About Kyle

Kyle works at Olivet as the executive director of campus safety management. He and his wife Amber have three children. They are members of the Homebuilders Sunday School class. Kyle has attended CCUA since 1997 and has served as a kindergarten-third grade teacher in Kidsland. He currently volunteers as a money counter.

don reddick

About Don

Don served as the head of the music program at Olivet for twenty-six years. He is married to Dena and they have two adult children and two grandchildren. The Reddicks have attended College Church for a little over five years and have hosted a connection group for college students. Don is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and is the co-leader for the Here’s the Bible Sunday School class.

About Amy

Amy is the Operations Manager at Harbor House. She is married to Scott and they have three children. She has attended College Church since 2007 and is active in the Faith and Life Sunday School class. Amy volunteers in the Kidsland nursery and serves as the NMI (Nazarene Missions Council) President.

john thomson

About John

John is a retired high school teacher. He is married to Mary and together they have three children, one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren. John has attended College Church for thirty-one years and takes an active role in maintaining and improving the church building.
