The Parable of the Wedding Banquet in Matthew 22 is one of Jesus's most challenging stories, and its difficulty is intentional. God extends a generous invitation to His kingdom, but that invitation carries real weight. Those who ignore it, make excuses, or presume upon it without genuine gratitude miss what is truly being offered. The parable closes with a sobering reminder: many are invited, but few are chosen. This is not a statement about God being stingy with salvation. It is a call to receive His grace with the humility and reverence it deserves. God is still sending out the invitation today, and the question is how we will respond.
