Beginning with repentance...like Jesus

Jan 11, 2026    Pastor Mark Quanstrom

John the Baptist was confused when Jesus came to be baptized, knowing that the sinless Son of God didn't need to repent. But Jesus insisted, saying it was proper to fulfill all righteousness. Through His baptism, Jesus demonstrated that repentance isn't just about confessing sin—it's about committing to live entirely for God rather than ourselves. Jesus publicly declared His obedience to the Father and identified with sinful humanity. This challenges us to let Jesus be who He actually is rather than conforming Him to our expectations, and to follow His example of humble submission to God's will.
