Not so obvious.

The story of Jesus' temptation in the wilderness reveals that following Christ involves real spiritual warfare, not the cartoonish depictions we often imagine. Satan's temptations were actually reasonable options that appealed to Jesus - turning stones to bread when hungry, proving his divinity by jumping from the temple, and taking a shortcut to rule the world. This shows how the enemy disguises temptation as good ideas rather than obviously evil choices. Too often, Christian leaders present following Jesus as easy, failing to prepare believers for the cosmic battle they're entering. We have spiritual weapons available through prayer, Bible reading, corporate worship, and communion that protect us in this warfare.
