Because the "you" is as important as the "something."

The feeding of the 5,000 was not just a miracle of multiplication. It was a miracle of distribution, carried out person by person, face to face, by the twelve disciples over the course of hours. When Jesus said 'You give them something to eat,' the 'you' was just as important as the 'something.' Jesus consistently chose personal encounter over mass efficiency throughout His ministry, and that pattern was intentional. The Gospel is not primarily a proposition. It is a person, Jesus Christ, and it travels through people in whom He lives. The Word became flesh so that the message could move from one life to another. You are part of how that happens.
