Into the world that is.

The Christmas story doesn't end with the nativity scene. Just days after Jesus' birth, Joseph and Mary had to flee to Egypt to escape King Herod's murderous plot. This darker chapter reveals that Jesus didn't come to an idealized world, but to the real world filled with political oppression, violence, and suffering. He experienced hunger, displacement, injustice, and loss just like we do. This means that wherever we are in our struggles - whether facing uncertainty, grief, or hardship - Jesus understands because He has been there too. The complete Christmas story reminds us that Christ enters into our actual circumstances, not the perfect world we wish we lived in.
